Introduction to Immigration Law Class, 40 hours

February 6-10, 2017
Costa Mesa, California

February 6-10, 2017 • Costa Mesa, CA

World Relief Immigration Technical Unit is pleased to offer an intensive, 40-hour immigration law training in partnership with the World Relief Garden Grove and The Crossing Church in Costa Mesa.  The training will be conducted using the curriculum of the Immigrant Legal Resource Center (ILRC). This course will help to provide the necessary training component for individuals who wish to apply for accreditation from the Board of Immigration Appeals (BIA). BIA recognition and accreditation allows non-attorneys working at non-profit organizations to practice immigration law.  The course will touch on all areas of immigration law and practice focusing on topics most relevant to those serving and representing low-income immigrants.

WHEN: February 6-10, 2017

WHERE: The training will take place at The Crossing Church located at 2115 Newport Blvd, Costa Mesa, CA 92627

COSTS: $50, plus materials $270-310 (see website)

Due to the requirements of the accreditation application process, we recommend that only individuals with U.S. citizenship, lawful permanent residence, or other long-term immigration presence apply for this training.

Additional requirements for applying for Board of Immigration Appeals (BIA) recognition and accreditation will be discussed during the training week. Participants who pass the take-home test will receive a certificate of completion from the Immigrant Legal Resource Center (ILRC), the authors of the training curriculum. This will help participants in the process of obtaining BIA accreditation.
